About Me
Hi, I’m Nicky Hammond. I live in Sydney, Australia, with my husband, our two school-aged boys, and our staffy. I’m a transracial, intercountry adoptee from South Korea.
I am a certified Master Certified Life Coach and a trauma-informed breathwork facilitator. Over the past eight years, I’ve worked with hundreds—if not thousands—of humans through 1:1 coaching, group programs, and as a coach instructor. I’ve created and facilitated transformational coaching programs. I’m involved with adoption organisations such Intercountry Adoptee Voices (ICAV); Post Adoption Resource Centre (PARC), Benevolent Society and Intercountry Adoptee Family Support Services (ICAFSS), Relationships Australia. I’ve also consulted for leading international entrepreneurs, including US business expert Amy Porterfield https://www.amyporterfield.com/about.
I bring a unique blend of mindset coaching and breathwork journeys, offering clients a compassionate, grounded, and powerful space for healing and growth. My presence, intuition, and ability to hold space for honest exploration allow clients to create deep, lasting change—starting from the inside out.
Alongside my coaching work, I’ve worked in community development for over 20 years, building inclusive communities and designing meaningful programs and events across multicultural, not-for-profit, and government spaces.
I love helping humans truly know themselves, supporting them to heal, live in integrity and thrive.
My Story
I was born in South Korea and adopted to Australia with my identical twin sister before we were one year old. Growing up as a transracial adoptee in a white Australian family, I carried quiet questions about who I was, where I came from, and where I truly belonged.
That experience shaped everything—my deep curiosity about identity, culture, and connection. It gave me a sensitivity to the stories we carry, the ones we inherit, and the ones we have the power to rewrite.
In my search for belonging, I lived, worked, and travelled across the world. I supported First Nations youth to connect with culture, and spent time in France, the Kingdom of Tonga, the Cook Islands, and Gabon. Eventually, I returned to my country of birth—South Korea—where I lived for almost two years at KoRoot, a community house for Korean adoptees in Seoul. I studied the language at Yonsei University and deepened my understanding of my origins and identity.
I brought this passion for culture and connection back to Australia, working in the multicultural community development sector for many years before discovering coaching.
Almost a decade ago, I was a perfectionistic, overwhelmed mum. I was sceptical of self-help, afraid of being seen, and lacked confidence in my own voice. I tried to hold everything together for everyone else—while quietly doubting myself.
And yet, something in me knew there had to be more.
Coaching cracked open a door I didn’t even know existed. Breathwork gave me the courage to walk through it.
Today, I’m a Master Certified Coach and trauma-informed breathwork facilitator. I run my own business, build communities, and support individuals to heal, grow, and lead with authenticity—from the inside out. This work isn’t accidental. It’s grounded in years of intentional inner work, and in walking alongside hundreds of others on their own journeys.
I now work with people from all walks of life—adoptees, coaches, parents, small business owners, entrepreneurs, and professionals—who are ready to come home to themselves.
Because when you truly know who you are, you move differently through the world.
And that changes everything.
